About Us

Feline Friendz in Nebraska is a 501(c)3 local non-profit all volunteer rescue organization founded n 2002. We are not an owner surrender organization. We rescue stray and feral cats and then relocate them to suitable homes. FFiNE is the only rescue group in the Omaha area dedicated solely to cats. As a non-profit organization we rely heavily on private donations and volunteers to keep our mission on track.

Our Mission

We are a true no kill rescue operation dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming stray and feral cats. This means the only reason a cat would be put down is in the case of a serious/non curable medical condition. We do not euthanize feral cats, or cats with temperament or behavioral issues. Instead, these cats are integrated into outdoor managed colonies which are monitored daily and provided with food, water and shelter. All cats in the care of FFiNE will receive full veterinary care, including spay/neuter, all vaccinations and testing for feline leukemia and FIV infection. Most of the cats rescued have been living outside for some time, are malnourished and are in need of some loving care. These cats are fully evaluated before placing in foster homes or being adopted out.

The Process

When we discover cases of stray or feral felines they are trapped, evaluated, and then relocated. Most of them are placed into foster homes to provide them with the loving care, and attention they so need while awaiting adoption. These volunteer foster parents dedicate a large amount of their time and energy to helping our felines become (or remain) suitable for adoption. Some of the felines remain mainly feral and need to live in a farm, horse stable or other outdoor habitat. Since these felines would not fit into a home/family setting we locate suitable outdoor environments for them and make sure that they recieve proper care, supervision, and nutrition.

The Adoptions

We take great care in matching a feline to it’s new home. During the adoption process our fosters take the information you give them and make suggestions on which feline would best suit your situation. The foster parents are the best people to help you make this decision because they have been living with the cats and know their personalities best. These felines have already seen too much neglect and hardship. Our goal is to make sure that their new home is also their fur-ever home.
